Dave Ramsey is the absolute man. I downloaded his podcast at random and now listen every day for hours on end.

I started with my 20k student loan and a 1 year goal in January.

I am at 7,200 left in July so I am on pace. I am still living like a broke college kid for right now, but I will soon have made the sacrifice.

I am intense and working hard, I realize that I am my own bailout and listening to the show helps remind me every day.
The only wierd thing is that he has been in two of my dreams which must prove my gazelle like intensty. My GF thinks I am insane and honestly I just might be.

This book has changed my life! I am on baby step 2 and have paid off $80,000 in consumer debt in 25 months. I took Dave's advice and stopped my 401K deductions and this really jump started my debt snowball. I finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. I owe this all to Dave. I also went thru his 13 week Financial Peace University with my wife this also made a big difference. We are on the same page for the first time in 25yrs of marriage.

@Working Dollar - The book is very basic. I think he says in the book that it is written at the 8th grade level so that nearly anyone can understand it.

There are a lot of stories in it along the way of real people who have followed the steps and gotten out of debt. His strategy is that it is Behavior not Knowledge that gets you out of debt and on the road to financial William Wallace-like Freedom.
