Nice Post. Every time I see someone getting inspired by the birth of a son/daughter I always wonder what I can take away from it to use as motivation, since I don't have a son/daughter yet. I know nothing compares to that, but is my only hope for similar inspiration to wait or can I also get myself that geared up to do great things?

Great post. I'm a big believer in creating a mission statement for anything you decide to put your mind to.

That way when you decide you want to quit, or forget why you're doing what you're doing, you can reflect back and remember, "oh yeah, that's why". and get realigned with your purpose.

It is amazing what having children will do for your outlook on life. I ran across an article yesterday titled, One Year On. How Fatherhood Has Changed My Life. Peter expresses some of the same thoughts about how his priorities changed when his son was born.

You know, no one is perfect, despite our desperate attempts to appear so. Thanks for opening up about your challenges. We have similar stories.

I love your private investigator example. That's a great visual reference and it paints a picture anyone can remember.
