My friend told me that her husband asked for her understanding at the beginning of their marriage that they would not travel and shop much so that they can pay off their mortgage fast. She was fine with that, even though she was living a rich life before she sold her business and married him. He managed to pay off their 15-year mortgage in 5 years on one income. I have to say that's the most romantic words a man could say to a woman. He gives her a great sense of security.
