This reminds me of a millionaire in our area who is pretty envied, and talked about as being lucky. But they didn’t notice he’d been working since the 1980s 16 hours a day, and was real frugal besides.

It’s definitely food for thought.

Great insights, great advice, and a great read overall.

Love the last paragraph. Most really successful people will tell you it took them 20 years to become and “overnight” success.

This is a great post! It’s so interesting how little we really need. Taking a step back to think about the true cost of driving a fancy car or wearing new clothes every season is really eye opening.

Great post! I think the Cinderella syndrome is a pretty common American phenomenon. We think we should make it big on pure chance. We should lock eyes with our one true love across a crowded room and “just know” they’re the one. We’re just sitting around waiting on our Fairy Godmothers. But the truth is that love, money, success, a nice body, etc. all require HARD WORK!

This is a great article. I think it is important to turn off the tv as well. If you truly have a goal and want to reach it, you need to put your energy into that. Instead of watching hours a night in front of the tube, research, practice, and do whatever you can to help reach your dreams.

“Stop trying to impress people at red lights you will never meet again.” I love that. One of my very first “sermons” when I step into the financial pulpit is about financing new cars. I like this quote and will certainly be using it.
