I’ve tried blogging a couple of different times in earnest, to support my software product. Each time though, I start recording good content ideas, I write a couple of posts, and then I just wear out. Because after a full day at my “regular” job, playing with the kids, handling household duties, and doing whatever I need to do to support e-commerce activities, I just don’t feel like writing. And, it’s usually 11PM by then, and I’m tired.

So, the question is, how long does a GOOD post need to be. When I do blog, I find myself writing 10 paragraphs. Would 4 do just as well, with less detail ?

This is the next step I need to take. I have the notebook and pen. Only one problem, my little one keeps taking it to write her own little notes

I have a pocket voice recorder that’s really tiny and flips open to expose a USB port. I can record new files just by hitting one button, too. It’s sweet.

I also keep a pocket notebook.

i have my cellphone to take pictures of interest. i have a pen and small notebook handy all the time.

I have an iPhone, so I just use the “notes” app – I have multiple notes going on at once (it’s like having a stack of post-its in my pocket – grocery list, people to call, blog posts…) and just enter the ideas on the virtual post-it.

But before I had the iPhone, I did whatever was appropriate and was at hand. I would text myself a message or leave myself a voicemail message if I was on the go. If I was at a friend’s house I’d pop on the computer and email myself. And a couple of times I turned on the video function on my digital camera and talked into the camera I also do this if I’m driving and want to write down a song name or artist I just heard on the radio. My camera is in the front pocket of my purse, so I can drive and flip it on for a quick voice note

I use an iPod Touch to record those thoughts on the Notes application. Once saved, I email the note application to myself. Once on the ‘puter, the text from the email can be cut and pasted to the WYSIWYG editor.
