Yay! I'm so glad you posted this :D

The basis of my entire "early retirement" plan is to have an enormous sunny day fund to fall back on no matter what comes my way. And I do intend to *finally* go back to Italy, which I've been missing desperately since I moved away.

My current sunny day fund is for a motorcycle - literally :P I am saving for one now and once I have enough, I'll have one (plus gear) to ride around on in the SUNSHINE! :D

What a refreshing concept when almost everyone spends their "fun" money BEFORE even receiving it. To have a "sunny day fund" available to you when the most gorgeous day of the year occurs, has got to be an awesome luxury !
