Weekly Roundup: BCS Championship Edition

Tonight Alabama and Texas play for the BCS Championship. As an Auburn man, I don’t have a favorite, but I’ll be a homer and pull for the Crimson Tide since they are from the same conference. I’ve enjoyed the bowl season this year, and look forward to tonight’s game. Feel free to share your predictions in the comments below.

I’m equal parts excited and disappointed as the game marks the end of the college football season. But I do think it will be a good contest. Enjoy the game!

I think that Alabama is going to win in convincing fashion tonight.

    Thanks for the useful links.

War Eagle!!! Love your blog. It was definitely a year of close ones for the Tigers, considering our close losses versus Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia.

Boo on the BCS! I live in Boise, the home of the undefeated Broncos, winners of the Fiesta Bowl and, I believe, only the second team in history to have an undefeated season that included a bowl game.

@Sheila: If you will remember, Auburn was shut out of the BCS game in 2004, even though they were undefeated and won the SEC championship. They system is a complete sham, in my opinion.

@Sheila: Although I don’t have the statistics, I am sure that there have been many teams that have had undefeated seasons including bowl games…

I suppose you meant to say, they are the second team to go undefeated and not have a national championship in hand… ?! As Frugal Dad mentioned, Auburn did the very same thing in 2004.
