Weekly Roundup: Vacation From Vacation Edition

by Adam · 6 comments

Last week our family took our first trip to Disney World. It was a great time, and while I’d like to tell you about all the frugal lessons we learned, honestly, there is little frugal about Disney. We did learn a few tricks that could help shave money off our next trip (and I’ll share a few of those in a later post). My only complaint about vacationing at Disney is that I now need a vacation to recover from vacation! Lots of walking, not much relaxing.

I am looking forward to hearing about Disney savings. Our family is heading down to Disney World for a vacation in a week (to run the half marathon) and could use some tips on how to save there.
Thanks!!

Lol, I went this past November 2009, and I had the flu the entire time… Fun!

I was surprised that that Internet access wasn’t free in the hotels, and everything was very pricey compared to where I’m from…

Would I go again? You betcha!

Looking forward to your Disney review. I’ve been so many times, I’ve lost count. Learned many tricks along the way to write my own book. Hope you had a “magical” time and lots of memories were made.

Oh my gosh!!! We went to Las Vegas for the Superbowl and I’m still not recovered. You really need to take a day or two off after you come back from a vacation to ‘heal up’.

Thank you very much for the mention FD! glad to hear you had such a great time in Disney, and you hit the nail right on the head when you said there is nothing frugal about Disney. LOL

Hope you recover well over the weekend coming up!

I know one way we save money on vacations in through timeshare presentations. Usually they give away $100 or sometimes more. We plan a day early in our vacation to spend about 3-4 hours in a “60-minute presentation”. All we do is sit there and say “No”. It’s actually alot of fun but then again, I have a somewhat twisted sense of humor.
