Festival of Frugality - Tax Day Edition is Up

The 121st edition of the Festival of Frugality is up and running over at Rather Be Shopping.  Frugal Dad’s “Ultimate Frugal Weekend” was fortunate enough to be designated an editor’s choice, along with eleven other outstanding articles.

My personal favorite from the festival was submitted by Catherine at Frugal Homemaker Plus.  Catherine eloquently describes the difference between luck and hard work, and emphasizes hard work is what makes people successful over the long term.  This is an excellent read - if you skip the other eighty-something articles, don’t miss this one!

Another favorite from this edition of the Festival of Frugality was submitted by “Fabulously Broke” of Fabulously Broke in the City.  Her article, The True Cost of Owning and Watching a TV is one of the most thorough posts I’ve ever read on the dangers of television watching (financially).  As you all know, I’m not much of a television watcher, so this one was right up my alley!

March in Review and a Festival Announcement

spring flowerFirst, I would like to announce The Festival of Frugality #119 is up and running over at Consumer Commentary.  One of the largest collections of articles on frugal living you’ll ever find!  Frugal Dad’s article, “The Difference Between Being Frugal , and Being Cheap” was honored to be included.

March was a good month here at Frugal Dad.  We saw over 52,000 page views, and subscriber count more than doubled from 149 at the end of February to 357 on March 31st.  I’m honored to have you all as readers, and hope you will tell a friend about FrugalDad.com.  If you have not yet subscribed, you may do so here via RSS, or here for email delivery.

Unfortunately, I was late signing up with a tracking service that provides information on my top referrers, so I’ll have to wait until next month to provide that listing.  However, I would like to thank…

Top Commentators for the Month of March

These guys run great blogs, and I hope you’ll take some time to visit them today.  Thanks to all of you for taking the time to share your comments.

That puts March in the books.  Today begins a new month with new opportunities.  In April I will celebrate my 10-year wedding anniversary.  No big plans, but a couple surprises I can’t share here in case the wife is reading.  I’ll share details post-surprise.
