Entertainment isn’t just frivolous—it’s an important aspect of how we rest from the stresses of day-to-day life, and quality films and literature can be powerful tools to help us think and process our own lives. I recognize the value of a good book, a classic album, and I even think that video games and gaming accessories can play an important role in helping balance out life. While it isn’t inherently frivolous, I do think entertainment can easily become an unnecessary drain on the budget. I strive to find ways to save on all the entertainment my family enjoys, from books and movies to our favorite games on the wii. With coupons and some frugal instincts, you can still enjoy a wide repertoire of ways to keep yourself and your family entertained without letting your spending get out of hand.
